Friedrich August Belcke

Etudes

Friedrich August Belcke’s etudes for trombone. Belcke, the first trombone virtuoso to tour as a soloist, wrote them in Berlin in the 1830s and 1840s: lyrical and technical studies in the style of the day.

Cut for trombone, alto trombone, euphonium, tuba: each edition moves every study into that instrument’s range and clef.

Each study is transposed and re-clefed into the instrument's range and engraved at a 7.5 mm staff with a printer's margins, one study to a page or a spread, never a turn inside a study.
