A printed étude is fixed in one key, one clef, one octave. Practice Farm puts any étude into any key and any range, so it is playable on any instrument. That lets you vary your practice and become fluent in every key.
Your clef, your fingerings
Tell Practice Farm which clefs you read (bass, tenor, alto or treble) and every page is engraved in the one that fits best, with the fingerings, slide positions or valve combinations for your instrument.

Play a study through all twelve keys in random order, or around the circle of fifths.
Drums that read the rhythm
Practice Farm gives you a drum play-along track for every exercise. It can play a groove so you hear the right subdivisions, or click the exact rhythm on the page. There are eight styles, including swing, bossa and funk, so you learn to play with a groove behind you.
A drone that follows
The built-in drone changes pitch as the tonality changes, so you never stop to reset it. That leaves you free to work on your intonation.
Excerpts, for audition week
A library of standard orchestral excerpts for trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba. Practice them with a groove and a drone behind you, or take them through different keys to build your versatility.
Your tempos, your routine
Every study remembers its own tempo between sessions. Bookmark the hard ones, build playlists for a warm-up or an audition, and let Random shuffle what comes next. Randomised practice is one of the best-evidenced ways to make it stick.

The page scrolls itself as you play, so the next line is there before you need it. Both hands stay on the instrument, and nothing interrupts a phrase. The interface stays out of the way until you ask for it.
A chorale room
Practice Farm includes 366 Bach chorales. Set the soprano, alto, tenor and bass to whatever instruments you like, and each part is re-engraved so its player can read it, whatever the group.

app.practice.farm has 800 études, transposition into any key, the Auto Beat metronome and the Circle of Fifths mode. It runs in any browser and it is free. The iPad app has a bigger library, the Bach chorales, drums and drones, and it works offline.

Which instruments does it support?
Forty. Brass: trumpet, French horn, alto, tenor and bass trombone, euphonium, tuba. Woodwinds: flute, piccolo, alto flute, descant and treble recorder, oboe, English horn, clarinet in B♭, A and E♭, bass clarinet, bassoon, contrabassoon, soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone. Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele. Voice: soprano, alto, tenor, bass. Percussion: glockenspiel, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone. And piano. Each gets its own clefs, written pitch and fingerings.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The whole library ships inside the app and everything runs on the iPad. There is no account and nothing to sign into.
What does it collect about me?
Nothing. There is no server, no account and no analytics. Playlists, bookmarks, tempos and settings stay on your iPad.
Can I use my own sheet music?
Yes. Import MusicXML (.musicxml or .mxl) from Dorico, Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore or any other notation app. Imported pieces work exactly like the built-in library: key dial, your clef, drums and drone.
Can I print from it?
Yes. Anything exports to PDF in your key, clef and fingerings, ready to print or share.
What does it cost?
$9.99 on the App Store.
Is it the same as the web version?
No. The web version at app.practice.farm is the original, it is free, and it has most of the library. The iPad app adds the ability to import your own scores, a bigger library, the Bach chorales, and the polish only a native app can have, and it works entirely offline.
Is there an iPhone version?
No, iPad only. A full page of music needs a screen the size of a page. Any iPad running a current iPadOS works.
