About the Etudes
Friedrich August Belcke’s etudes for trombone. Belcke, the first trombone virtuoso to tour as a soloist, wrote them in Berlin in the 1830s and 1840s: lyrical and technical studies in the style of the day.
Engraved like a printed part
Each study is transposed and re-clefed into the instrument's range and engraved at a 7.5 mm staff with a printer's margins. A short study shares a page rather than leave half of one empty, and a long one opens on a spread: never a turn inside a study.
